Hair Services Practicum II COSM 1100
3 Credits(Prerequisites: COSM 1000, COSM 1010, COSM 1020, COSM 1030, COSM 1040, COSM 1050) (Co-requisite: COSM 1090) Provides experience necessary for professional development and completion of requirements for state licensure. Emphasis will be placed on the display of professional conduct and positive attitudes. The appropriate number of applications for completion of state board service credit requirements for this course may be met in a laboratory setting. Topics include texture services; permanent waving and relaxers; haircolor and lightening; hair and scalp treatments; haircutting; styling; dispensary; reception; safety precautions/decontamination; and Hazardous Duty Standards Act compliance. A $30 fee is associated with this course due to the increased cost of chemicals and supplies needed to complete the requirements for the course.
