Welding & Joining Technology
The STC Welding & Joining Technology Program is a sequence of courses that prepares students for careers in the welding industry. Welders build the world around them, and Southeastern Tech’s welding program equips students with the tools to build their own opportunities. The program also has a number of corporate partners which employ STC graduates and are always looking for skilled employees. Emphasizing a combination of welding theory and practical application of that theory, the STC Welding program creates experienced welders at the forefront of their field.
Graduates have been employed with Boilermakers, Coastal Transport, Strange Welding, Utility Meter Services, Advanced Metal Components and have been self-employed.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, there will be nearly 450,000 welding jobs available in 2014.
Immediately upon graduation, STC graduates have made $20 per hour.
