Hair Services Practicum IV COSM 1115

(Co-requisites: COSM 1110) This course provides the experience necessary for professional development and completion of requirements for state licensure. Emphasis will be placed on the display of professional conduct and positive attitudes. The requirements for this course may be met in a laboratory setting. Topics include permanent waving and relaxers; hair color and lightening; hair and scalp treatments; haircutting; dispensary; styling; reception; safety precautions/decontamination; Hazardous Duty Standards Act compliance; and state licensure preparation. A $30 fee is associated with this course due to the increased cost of chemicals and supplies needed to complete the requirements for the course.
