Styling COSM 1040
3 Credits(Co-requisite: COSM 1000) Introduces the fundamental theory and skills required to create shapings, pin curls, fingerwaves, roller placement, blow dry styling, thermal curling, thermal pressing, thermal waving, artificial hair and augmentation, and comb-outs. Laboratory training includes styling training on manikins. Topics include: braiding/intertwining hair, styling principles, pin curls, roller placement, fingerwaves, skip waves, ridge curls, blow dry styling, thermal curling, thermal pressing, thermal waving, artificial hair and augmentation, comb-outs and safety precautions. A $30 fee is associated with this course due to the increased cost of chemicals and supplies needed to complete the requirements for the course.
